The deep rich colour of this wine indicates its intensity. The nose is full of ripe plum and dark cherries with a hint of white pepper and sweet vanillin. The flavours carry onto the palate which is full of big soft fruit, but balanced by an elegant oak structure and natural acid, resulting in a rich wine with a complex and fresh structure.

Chateau Musar Red 19991999: This is the basic palette from which Serge Hochar, no dry academician, creates his blends: First, a Cinsault from a single, soil-rich vineyard in Ana: deep core, young Provençal scent; delicious flavor, wonderful richness and flesh. Soft tannins. Next. a Cinsault from Ammiq's very gravelly soil:fragrant, lighter stvle, more charm. Then Carignan from a lighter soil in the Ana district: Deep, velvety; spicy garrigue scent (I was reminded of Corbières in the Languedoc), flavour more aromatic. Lastly, Cabernet Sauvignon from Kefraya's rocky soil: verv deep purple; sweet, lovely crisp flavour, excellent tannins and acidity. End taste of violets and blackcurrants.

Domaine Pinson Freres Chablis Mont de Milieu 2016Tasting Notes: Exotic aromas of pineapple, vanilla, and apricot on the nose. Round, well-balanced, and with good persistence of flavor. Food Matches: Fish with sauce, white meat with cream, ham off the bone with a chablisienne sauce.
Chateau Musar White 2009The Chateau white of this year is a deep golden colour with honeyed aromas, full of tropical fruits; pineapple, banana with warm, toasty buttery notes. The palate is rich in ripe yellow fruits, quince and apricot with the pineapple flavours following through. It also has dried fruits and almonds with oak ageing characters. This is a powerful vintage full of yellow fruits and honeycomb; there is a fine balance between the oily texture and fresh acidity. Cellared well, it will keep for decades.
Hahn Santa Lucia Highlands Chardonnay 2017Aroma: Citrus, stone fruit and hints of banana and vanilla. Flavor: A viscous mouthfeel with welcoming acidity that showcases stone fruits, citrus and hints of apple and spices. Pairings: Dijon-Tarragon Cream Chicken.
Macanita Touriga Nacional Em Rose 2018Appearance: Saturated rose-pink. Nose: Fresh crushed strawberries, bing cherries and cherry blossom aromas leap from the glass. Palate: Juicy and fresh, with beautiful texture and balance. Sour and Bing cherry, fresh and macerated strawberries, and a touch of white pepper spice all in abundance. Pairings: A wine made for warm weather celebrations! Delicious as an aperitif, this wine is also a great pair with raw seafood preparations and fresh vegetables.
Clos Centeilles Minervois Carignanissime de Centeilles 2015Imbued with the history of Languedoc, this Carignan is made with hand picked grapes from 60-100 year old vines. Aromas of cocoa, herbs, and leather are supported by supple tannins on the palate.
Theo Minges Scheurebe Feinherb 2018Regina Minges and her father Theo farm 24 hectares organically in Flemlingen in the Southern Pfalz. Scheu is grown in the richer, loamy soils of Flemlinen, from two sites, Vogelsprung and Zechpeter. Fermentation here is in native yeasts and in stainless steel without temperature control.
