This red combines cherry, strawberry, tobacco, leather, iron and wild thyme and sage flavors, backed by compact tannins and bright acidity. Will take a few years to unpack, but this finds equilibrium in the end. Exhibits a ton of grip. A textbook Brunello. Best from 2021 through 2035. 250 cases made.

"Cellar Selection" Truffle, forest floor, baked plum and cake spice aromas mingle with whiffs of new leather and pipe tobacco on this bold full-bodied red. The enveloping palate seamlessly combines concentration and finesse, doling out fleshy black cherry, crushed raspberry, cinnamon, licorice and mocha alongside big velvety tannins that give the finish nice grip and a polished texture. This will give decades of enjoyment. Drink 2020-2037.

The 2012 Brunello di Montalcino Ragnaie V V represents a clear step up in terms of intensity and complexity next to the Brunello annata. This expression shows more bulk and muscle compared to the base wine. Its appearance is darkly saturated and rich. The nose shows a thick patchwork of dark cherry, plum, spice, leather and grilled herb aromas. The mouthfeel is round, supple and soft initially, but tends to show some thinness on the mid-palate. This is a common characteristic among wines from this vintage.
