Alzinger Ried Steinertal Riesling Smaragd 2017
Passion fruit and mango on the nose set an unmistakably tropical tone. The palate continues in the same, generous juicy vein of full-on fruit but manages to temper this with bright, lemon freshness. The finish is taut, clean, zesty and lemony
Alzinger's 2017 Ried Steinertal Riesling Smaragd is coolish, fresh and piquant on the crunchy, spicy nose where white fruit aromas are displayed. Lush and intense on the palate, this is a rich, full-bodied, firm, mineral and very elegant Steinertal Riesling with green, crispy fruit on the salty-piquant, stimulating finish. As always, the Steinertal needs time to open up compared the the Loibenberg. Tasted in Unterloiben, Wachau, September 2018.
A tropical style, exhibiting passion fruit, persimmon and ground ginger flavors before the firm structure of mouthwatering acidity and minerality takes over, leaving a bone-dry impression. Notes of white pepper emerge on the long finish. This should shine in several years. Best from 2021 through 2030. 144 cases imported.
