A lovely French version of an old school styled Scottish Single Malt! Old Lowlands or even Islands malts like Rosebank or Jura come to mind here. Elegant, grassy, light floral notes, beautiful citrus, honey and wildflowers in the malting with a kiss of briny accent and light smoke. A purist take for sure, this will impress any fan of Single Malt Whisky!

The first whiffs don't uncover much; aeration produces little other than a faint trace of linseed oil. The palate entry is grainy, off-dry and moderately oily; by midpalate the mildly honeyed core flavor displays some elegance, but there's not enough finesse here to justify the hefty price. Finishes with a burnt toast flavor. - P.P.
