Domaine Notre Dame des Pallières Gigondas Bois Des Mourres 2017
|Region||France, Rhone, Gigondas|
|Brand||Domaine Notre Dame des Pallières|
A blend of 80% Grenache and 10% each of Syrah and Mourvèdre, made from a selection of old vines, the 2017 Gigondas Bois Des Mourres offers a slightly modern slant in its darker plummy, berry, and cassis style fruit as well as classic undertone of new leather, garrigue, and peppery spice. Ripe, medium to full-bodied, and mouthfilling on the palate, it's a beautifully balanced, sexy red that's going to benefit from short-term cellaring and keep for over a decade. It's a stunning value!
Bright ruby. A deeply perfumed bouquet evokes ripe black raspberry, cherry pie, vanilla and cola, along with a sexy touch of incense. Broad and fleshy in the mouth, offering oak-tinged cherry-vanilla, red berry preserve and fruitcake flavors that show surprising, and welcome, energy and back-end lift. Youthfully solid tannins frame an impressively long, chewy finish that emphatically repeats the red fruit and vanilla notes.
Vanilla and cedar notes frame juicy red fruit in the sexy 2017 Gigondas Bois des Mourres. A blend of 80% Grenache and 10% each Mourvèdre and Syrah, it's undeniably modern in style but so attractive. Silky and plush, it lingers easily on the palate.
