Vinous

Shimmering red. A highly perfumed bouquet evokes ripe red berries, musky herbs, potpourri and licorice, and a smoky mineral element emerges as the wine stretches out. Appealingly sweet and lively on the palate, offering sappy raspberry, floral pastille and cola flavors that deepen steadily on the back half. Shows excellent clarity and spicy thrust on the long, gently tannic finish, which leaves juicy berry and mocha notes behind.

Sleek and elegantly styled, with expressive raspberry and blueberry notes accented by orange zest and brown spice hints. Drink now through 2025.

Janus is a blend of various vineyards, more widely available and priced below most of the Brooks Pinots. Lovely aromatics entice with scents of violets and berries, while tart acidity amp up the fruit. Restrained barrel aging adds a light hint of chocolate around well-modulated tannins.
