Diego Conterno Barolo 2015
Conterno's 2015 Barolo is a soft, easygoing wine to drink now and over the next few years. Sweet tobacco, cedar, licorice and menthol add aromatic complexity, but the slightly dried out fruit profile makes me think the 2015 will develop relatively fast. Diego and Stefano Conterno bottled their 2015 with 22 months in barrel, a little bit earlier than normal, which was probably a sound decision. The 2015 is pretty, but a touch fragile. I liked it a bit more from barrel. Vineyard sources are San Pietro, San Giovanni and Ginestra (Pajana and Vigna del Gris).
