A more elegant nose is attractively floral with an appealing array of layered aromas that include those of pear and apple compote as well as a touch of spice tea. The very supple and not especially dense flavors compensate by their beguiling refinement on the well-detailed and wonderfully complex finale that exhibits just a touch of youthful austerity. Quite delicious!

Family property acquired in 1940, the Château de la Maltroye with its glazed tile roof of the 18th century is located on the top of the village. It has beautiful vaulted cellars of the 15th century. The estate is composed of 13 Ha on Chassagne-Montrachet and 2 Ha on Santenay. Production of approximately 60,000 bottles per year; 60% in white (Chardonnay), 40% in red (Pinot noir) of which 70% of 1er crus among the most prestigious of the village.
