The 2019 Syrah Laborde Double Select from La Consulta, Uco Valley was aged for 12 months in French barrels, 35% of them new. A dark purple in color, the attractive, liqueur-like aromas include rip blackberry, oak and a touch of black pepper. In the mouth, it's smooth and austere with a fleshy feel lent by the wood and a freshness packaged in the oak with a gentle, juicy flow and fruity finished. A flavorful, new world red.

There were jammy notes of raspberry in the nose of the 2019 Laborde Double Select Syrah, produced with grapes from a massal selection made by Luis Laborde. It matured in French oak barrels, 35% of them new, for 12 months. It has ripe fruit and faint varietal notes of black olives and violets. It's medium-bodied, and the tannins are fine. It finishes with a faint bitter twist. 37,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in May 2020.
