Pale ruby. Elegant nose of red fruits, echoed on the palate by sweet raspberry and cherry. The tannins are well knit, fine but present. The colour is deceptively pale, there’s good concentration here. The long length is blessed with salty minerality

The 2021 Gevrey-Chambertin Village is a blend of three parcels, though 50% is Au Cornbe de Dessus. With 20% new oak, it has an attractive wild strawberry and red plum bouquet. Impressive focus. The palate is medium-bodied with finely-tuned tannins, quite vibrant and lively, orange rind and touches of black pepper furnishing the finish. Give this a year or two in bottle.
