It offers big power and tannic structure, all backed by dried blackberry, plum and plenty of exotic spice. Some 6,800 bottles were released.

Sagrantino Chiusa di Pannone The 2015 Montefalco Sagrantino Chiusa di Pannone is darkly floral and enticing from the first tilt of the glass; here I’m finding musky black cherries dusted with crushed stone minerals and dried flowers. In the mouth, the 2015 is quite elegant and polished, displaying woodland berries offset by nuances of tangerine and brisk acids. The result is heroic structure, yet with enough primary concentration remaining to balance, as this tapers off with a bitter twang of balsam herbs.
